You become a role model to your child(ren)/a strong independent woman
It is all about practicing what you preach. You preach to your children about going to school and doing their homework on a daily basis, but it is important for them to see you practice it as well! You are showing them how important education and lifelong learning is by finishing or going back to school. They see your dedication and commitment and look up to you. By building yourself up and working towards becoming/staying financially independent, you are sending a strong message of perseverance to your children.

Your children will become more responsible
Too many kids today grow up with little to none responsibilities around the house. Some parents not asking anything of their children as giving their children the opportunity to just be kids. However, the truth is, those parents are making things harder for their children in the long run. When a parent becomes a student, everyone has to help out in the house (of course depending on the children’s ages). By taking on a few responsibilities around the house, they are learning valuable life skills that they will carry with them their entire lives.

You may find yourself becoming a better parent
If you are pursuing your life long dreams and passions, you will be happier. When you are happy, your joy will flow into other areas of your life and be contagious to others around you. So many times, moms put their own needs and wants on the back burner to take care of and provide for their children. Do not put yourself last. Show your children that, although it may take hard work and sacrifice, they should never have to give up on their dream. When you find yourself doing what you love, you’ll become a more loving and most likely patient parent. When you find yourself doing what you love, you’ll become a more loving and most likely patient parent.
